Gertrude “Trudy” Blackmore, Bohemia, Hawley, died Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA She was 78.

Born December 15, 1931, in Middle Village, Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Adele Schulz.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Charles H. Blackmore.

She was a retired clerk for the Pike County Commissioners, and had been employed for many years at the Katz Factory in Honesdale. Mrs. Blackmore was a member of McDonald’s Coffee Club, an active member of Senior Citizens of Wayne Co., Central Vol. Fire Dept. Aux., and secretary of Mt. Moriah Cemetery Assoc.

She is survived by two nieces and their husbands, Shelley and Keith Corey of Damascus, PA and Mary and Les Thomas of Prompton, PA; a nephew Richard Miller Sr. of Welcome Lake, PA; great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.

The funeral was on Saturday, July 17, at Teeters’ East Chapel with Rev. Jean Blackie, Pastor of Damascus Manor United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial was made in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Kimbles, PA.

Theresa M. Coney, formerly of Kauneonga Lake, NY, passed away in Hudson, FL on June 28, 2010. She was 79.

She was born in Forestine (Black Lake), NY on December 28, 1930 to the late Thomas Colo and Lena Bassney Colo. She married her late husband, Emmitt R. Coney, in 1950.

She worked for Monticello Greenhouses for over 30 years. She and her husband moved to Hudson, FL in 1987.

She is survived by sons Emmitt E. Coney of Hudson, FL and Jerry Coney and his wife Gayle of Hartsville, TN; a daughter Marion Parks Dolan and her husband Patrick of Bloomingburg, NY; grandchildren, Richard Parks, Tricia Parks, Jerrod Coney, and Zach and Rachel Schiffer; sisters, Margaret Edelman and her husband Walt of Hudson, Mary Messenger and her husband Claude of Old Town, FL and Lillian Coney and her companion John Matson of Wurtsboro, NY; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William, Ralph and Charles Colo; sisters, Katherine Hector and Christina Kiefer.

Funeral services were on July 17 at the Ramsay’s Funeral Home, Kauneonga Lake, with Rev. David Coon officiating.

Interment of ashes was at Evergreen Cemetery in Bethel, NY.

Raymond Curry of Callicoon Center, NY died at home July 16, 2010 after a long illness. He was 67.

He was born September 18, 1942 in Patterson, NJ, to Jacoba Curry and the late Norwood Curry.

He graduated from Midland Park High School in New Jersey and served in the armed forces during the Cuban missile crisis. On April 28, 1977 he married Carolyn Geed in Callicoon Center, NY.

Ray attended Broome County Community College; worked as a service manager at M&M Ford in Liberty, NY; was a former warden of the Livingston Manor Masonic Lodge and a former associate patron for the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 298.

Ray is survived by his wife Carolyn at home; his mother in the state of Florida; his son and wife, Peter and Mary Curry of South Carolina; daughter Susan Curry of Port Jervis; son and fiancé David Curry and Jennifer Sorrell of Virginia; daughter and husband, Samantha (Noble) and Keith McKenzie of Texas; grandchildren Raymond and Jake Curry of South Carolina, Mellissa Howard of Port Jervis, Isabella and Sophie McKenzie of Texas; one brother and wife, David and Debbie Curry of Florida; and his beloved cats and bird.

Services were held on Monday, July 19 at Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home, Livingston Manor, NY.

Anna Dzierzek of Middletown, NY, a retired self-employed produce farmer, entered into rest on Monday, July 12, 2010 at St. Teresa’s Nursing Home, Middletown. She was 93.

The daughter of John and Anna Kubic Babula, she was born on March 20, 1917 in Wallington, NJ.

Anna was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Florida, NY. She was married to the late Harry B. Dzierzek.

Survivors include sons Harry Dzierzek Jr. and wife Leona of Middletown, Robert Dzierzek and wife Rose Mary of Florida, NY, Allen Dzierzek and wife Sue Ann of Shohola, PA; and her special son, Ronald Dzierzek of Wurtsboro; grandchildren Donna Rumsey and husband Bill, Valerie Jones and husband Steve, Michael Dzierzek and wife Sheila, Allen Dzierzek Jr. and wife Lori, Dawn Molnar and husband Darin; 10 great-grandchildren; sister Mary Rhein; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass was held on Friday, July 16, at St. Joseph’s Church, Florida, NY. Burial was at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Florida.

Helen V. Case Garrity of Port Jervis, NY, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010, at St. Joseph’s Place, Port Jervis. She was 91.

She was born on September 29, 1918 in Matamoras, PA, the daughter of the late Herman and Ethel Quick Heater.

Helen was a retired floor lady for Andmore, Sportswear, Inc., Port Jervis and worked as a chambermaid at the Eddy Farm Hotel in Sparrowbush.

She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Tri-State Naval Ship #7241, Port Jervis, a life member of the VFW, National Home for Children and of the ILGWU, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Post # 139, Milford, PA, the Port Jervis Lodge of Elks, #645 B.P.O.E. and the National AARP.

She is survived by her son, Robert R. Case and wife Kathy of Sparrowbush, NY; grandson Ryan Case and wife Donna of Port Jervis; several grandchildren including Killian Case; several great-grandchildren; step-sons Earl Garrity and companion Cheryl Hankins and Kenneth Garrity and wife Joan, all of Port Jervis; step-daughter Joyce Decker and husband Carl of Town of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews.

Helen is predeceased by husband Raymond Case and husband Donald Garrity; and her daughter Joyce Case Brighton.

Memorial services were held on Wednesday July 21 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Inc., Port Jervis, with the Rev. Nancy Vonderhorst officiating. Tri-State Naval Ship and Elks services were also held on Wednesday.

Interment took place at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush.

Marjorie M. Holzman of Beach Lake, PA died Saturday July 17, 2010 at home after an illness. She was 79.

She is survived by her husband, Adolph M. Holzman.

Born in Clifford, PA, she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Iva M. Ridgeway Wells.

Marjorie attended the Abrahamsville United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.

She is also survived by sons Dale A. Holzman of Abrahamsville, Douglas G. Holzman and wife Doris and David N. Holzman, all of Beach Lake; daughters Kathleen M. Green and her husband Robert of Oakridge NJ and Bonnie S. Davis of Beach Lake; brothers Willard Wells of Sparta, NJ and Donald Wells of Lenox, PA; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Wells.

Funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Calkins Cemetery, Milanville PA.

Cecelia Zeszutek of New Hampton, NY entered into rest on July 14, 2010, at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh. She was 82 years old.

She was born January 27, 1928, to Anthony and Katherine Kowalski of Washingtonville, NY. Cecelia was married to Ferdinand Zeszutek who departed on March 15, 1995. They were married 52 years.

Cecelia is remembered for her love for her family, flower gardens, QVC fan, interested in news and weather, was a great cook and loved to fish. She cared for her late husband at home during his lengthy illness. She was a quiet person of great patience and wisdom. She fought her battle with cancer with great courage and determination and will be greatly missed.

Cecelia is survived by her children Catherine and husband Paul of Unionville, NY and granddaughter Laura and husband George Turturiello and great-granddaughter Kristina of Honesdale, PA, granddaughter Jill and husband Alec Usticke and great-grandchildren Saffy and William of Peekskill, NY, grandson Paul Jr. and wife Haroulla and great-granddaughter Alyssa of Greenville; son Frank and wife Sharon of New Hampton, granddaughter Dawn and husband Dan Farley and great-grandchildren Kiara, Tyler and Caryn of Port Jervis, NY, granddaughter LoriAnn and husband MacKenzie Mann and great-grandson Evan of New Hampton, grandson Frankie Jr. of New Hampton; daughter Betty and husband Tony Gulla of Greenville and granddaughter Janine and husband Sandro Rodriquez of Greenville and great-grandson Paulie, grandson Tony Jr. and wife Ellen and great-granddaughters Ashley and Mickaela of Glen Spey, NY; daughter Rose and husband Emmet Doty of Ridgebury, NY and grandson Paul and wife Staci and great-grandson Devon of Greenville, NY; grandson Brian and wife Robyn of Pine Bush, NY and great-grandchildren Taylor and Brandon; son James and wife Sandra of Otisville, NY and grandson John and wife Tiffany of Huntersville, NC, and great-grandchildren Ansley and Cole; daughter Lorraine Harty of Greenville, grandson Robbie and great-granddaughters Natasha and Nicole; a sister, Lillian; and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by grandsons James Jr., and Jeremy; and siblings: Jenny, Chester, Benjamin, Anna, Edward and Walter. She has many nieces and nephews and their families.

Service will be private and at the convenience of the family.
