The four board members present voted in favor of the move. BOE president Ray Henry was absent.

The BOE released the following statement on June 14: “At the June 10, 2010 Board of Education meeting the board decided to exercise their contractual options and terminate the employment agreement of the Superintendent of Schools effective August 9, 2010.” The BOE also announced a special meeting on June 15 to appoint an acting superintendent.
