Tournaments Major statement Bevy of Sullivan County track athletes heading for states WARWICK, NY—To make it to the state track meet is an athlete’s dream of a lifetime, and for the most serious and talented, a stated goal from the outset of their careers. Now after the completion of the state qualifier meets held in Kingston on June 3 and in Warwick on June 4, a cadre of Sullivan County kids are getting that coveted opportunity. Here is a list of those who will don the Section Nine colors and compete at Vestal High School on June 11-12. Their schools are in parenthesis and their qualifying times/distances. | |||||

Starry nights SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY—when it comes to outstanding efforts by athletes in Sullivan County schools you literally can’t say enough. That said, coaches, presenters and administrators gave it their best shot at two annual athletic awards ceremonies held this past week. In both schools, a musical slide show by this writer served as a visual reminder of the year’s milestones and the storied athletes who made it a year to remember. Softball Noble exit JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — Sullivan West’s softball season came to an end with a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to Highland in the Class B semifinals. Autumn Ackermann pitched a one-hitter in her final high school outing.
