HONESDALE, PA — Cynthia and Lars Hanson, who run the Hanson Gallery on Honesdale’s Main Street, have a special affinity for the Roots & Rhythm Music & Arts Festival (scheduled for June 19 this year), being musicians themselves. After seeing music-inspired art by photographer John Rocklin and painter Raymond Wallace, they had a brainstorm: why not hold an exhibit at their gallery dedicated to music-inspired art, and time it to be running during the festival?

They didn’t have to look far to find a strong group of local artists who have produced works in a variety of mediums consistent with the theme, including Anthony Chickillo, Yanni Glykokokalos, Paula Heiser, Richard Lichtenstein and Bernard Mangiaracina. The result is the exhibit that will open this Saturday, June 12, with an artists reception at 6:00 p.m. with wine and hors d’oevres.

The show will also feature vintage musical instruments on display and for sale.
