Spoerri solos at Willow River

HONESDALE, PA —Willow River Gallery will open a solo exhibition of works by Narrowsburg, NY artist Margo Spoerri on Saturday, June 12 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The show will run through July.

Spoerri has shown locally at the Looking Glass Gallery in Hawley, the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance in Narrowsburg and the Blue Victorian in Jeffersonville, NY as well as in New York City. A solo show of her work was held at the Headley-Whitney Museum in Lexington, KY in 1983. Twenty of the paintings from that show will be in exhibition at Willow River, as well as recent oil landscapes and works on paper done over the past 20 years.

Spoerri currently works in her studio on Main Street in Narrowsburg, overlooking the Delaware River, where she also shows her work. “It is an inspiration to be on the water, in nature and to include water imagery in my painting,” she says. “I find images in nature while driving in the car by old orchards with their twisted trees, in river grasses and autumn ground cover and foliage and from the islands in the river.”
