Eldred bees swarm over Section Nine ‘D’s

Eldred boys and girls repeat as Section Nine Class D track champions

MIDDLETOWN, NY—Call forth for the scribes and open the history books, for mighty Eldred has now won the Section Nine Class D boys and girls track titles for the second straight year.

Every hive has its queen bee and Eldred’s is Diana Schombs. The stalwart junior created the biggest buzz with an awesome foursome of wins in the Shot put (28-7.75), 100 Hurdles (17.87), Pole vault (9-6) and High jump (4-6). Schombs has now accrued eight gold medals since 2006, which includes prior victories in the pentathlon, two in the pole vault and one in the high jump.
