SCDW reprises Blithe Spirit for 60th anniversary
SOUTH FALLSBURG, NY The Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop (SCDW) will open its 2010 season with a production of Noel Cowards comedy Blithe Spirit, the show that marked the original debut of the company in 1950, from Friday, May 7 through Sunday, May 16.
Charles (Tom DelFavero of Livingston Manor) is newly married to straight-laced Ruth (Ellen Pavloff of Kerhonkson). Via a seance, he accidentally summons the spirit of his first wife, Elvira (Marie DuSault of Washingtonville), whom only he can see or hear. Believing that Elvira wants to ruin his marriage to Ruth, Charles enlists the services of a wacky medium, Madame Arcati (Sophia Mahmud of Port Jervis) to exorcise the spirit.
Performances will be held at the Rivoli Theatre, 5243 Main Street (Route 42) at 8:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, May 7, 8, 14, 15 and on 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 9 and 16. General admission costs $12 for adults, $10 for senior citizens and $7 for students showing a valid student ID. For any Friday night performance, you can set your own price. Tickets are available at the box office one hour prior to curtain for each performance, or online @ www.ShowTix4U.com. Blithe Spirit is being produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.
