‘The Intruder’ screened at Sunday Night Cinema

HONESDALE, PA — The French film “The Intruder” will be the next feature in the Sunday Night Cinema series on May 9, at 7:00 p.m. at the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce, 32 Commercial Street, Cinema Six.

Director Claire Denis’s 2005 film explores the troubled soul of Louis Trebor, a brooding loner who lives in a forest near the French-Swiss border. As this rugged, ailing 68-year-old outdoorsman travels halfway around the world to begin anew, his past, present and future, real and imagined, blend into a depiction of a selfish sensualist’s quest for a longer life. The program starts with a brief introduction and concludes with a post-movie discussion. A contribution of $5 per person is suggested.
