This deer appears right at home as it rests near the door of my home. As summer draws near, this deer will get its summer coat with a more reddish shade.
Recently, a neighbor called to see if I could identify and photograph some frogs she had seen in a pond in the yard, so one warm afternoon I took a walk over, camera in hand. However, the frogs were hiding for the moment, so after waiting a while, I told my neighbor I would return soon and left to go back home to finish some chores.
Back in 2007 I ordered an eight-foot, three-weight, hollow-built bamboo fly rod from my longtime friend Per Brandin. Per told me it would be a year and a half for him to deliver my order. I just had to hope I could outrun Father Time ‘til the rod arrived. Early in 2009, the rod came. It more than met my hopes and expectations.
