At 85 celebrates two long careers
LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY The Catskill Art Society (CAS) will present At 85, a new exhibition featuring the work of artists Douglas Craft and Elizabeth Harms, at the CAS Arts Center, 48 Main Street, Saturday, March 20 to Sunday, April 25. The exhibit is a mini-retrospective of both artists work, with mostly abstract oil paintings on view. There will be an artists talk at 1:00 p.m., followed by an opening reception from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
Craft and Harms, residents of Jeffersonville, are married, but this exhibition will be one of the few times in each of their long careersthey will both be 85 in 2010that they have shown work at the same time. Between them, they have work represented in the collections of the Newark Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art and Jersey City Museum, among many others.
Gallery hours are Thursday to Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The CAS Arts Center is wheelchair accessible.
Catskill Art Society is a non-profit cultivating public interest, participation and enjoyment of the arts. Through its multi-arts center, CAS explores contemporary art practices and facilitates creative and professional development for established and emerging artists.
