Tri-Valley winter athletes and teams celebrated at awards presentation

GRAHAMSVILLE, NY Led by its girls track team that garnered a trifecta of titles with championships in Division IV (28-0), Sullivan County and Section 9, Tri-Valleys winters sports season was an exceptional remonstrance of great performances.
The girls basketball team recorded a historic 16-4 season that included a regular-season winning streak of 12 games and a semifinal win over Rhinebeck before falling to Tuxedo in the Section 9 finals. Tri-Valley combined with Fallsburg to qualify six skiers for sectionals. Kendra Erts made it to states for the second straight year. Cheerleaders placed second and third in competitions and the boys basketball and track teams put forth noble efforts.
This winters awards winners were:
Girls indoor track: Tehynat Kahn and Caroline Bertholf (MVPs), Bernadette Tierney, Aurora Boyes and Kristen Offringa (MIPs) and Dominque Darby (Coaches Award). Boys indoor track: Brendan Moore and Mike Freeman (MVPs) and Andrew Malone (MIP). Girls basketball: Jakki Pugh (MVP), Skylar Musa (Most Valuable Offensive Player), Kelly McNamara and Amanda Martin (Most Valuable Defensive Players), Kathryn Schneyer (Most Invaluable Player) and Kaitlyn Torres (Coaches Award). Boys basketball: Khristian Newkirk (MVP), Ross Bonnell (MIP), Bobby Beale (Offensive Player of the Year), and Logan Ackerley and Peter DiMilia (Defensive Players of the Year). Girls alpine skiing: Kendra Erts (MVP), Ashlyn Matthews (MIP) and Elizabeth Bracken (Coaches Award). Boys alpine skiing: Ryan Erts (MVP), Jared Burkey (MIP) and Daniel Short (Coaches Award). Cheerleaders: Brittany Rennison (MVP), Alicia Kalman (MIP) and Ali Reynolds (Coaches Award).
