Tom Chapin in concert
HAWLEY, PA The Hawley Lake Wallenpaupack Chamber of Commerce will present Tom Chapin live in concert on Friday, March 19 at the Wallenpaupack Area High School at 7:00 p.m. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Seats cost $12 for ages one and over, and lap-held infants are admitted free.
Chapin has entertained, amused and enlightened audiences of all ages for 30 years. Intelligent songwriting with clear, engaging vocals and the intricate, melodic guitar work that has become his trademark. He says: Mine is not a traditional music, but it comes from a tradition. My musical heroes are people like Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie who wrote and sang real songs for real people; for everyone, old, young and in between.
Chapin is also a beloved narrator of childrens books on tape. Three of his narrations won Grammy Awards for Best Spoken Word Album for Children: Mama Dont Allow in 2001, There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly in 2002 and The Train They Call The City Of New Orleans in 2004.
