Winged weather woes
Most of us find winter snow removal annoying enough as we dig out our vehicles and clear driveways and paths. But some have even greater responsibilities to tend, especially when others under our care are affected by debilitating winter conditions such as those that visited the Upper Delaware region last week.
The Delaware Valley Raptor Center (DVRC) escaped a potentially tragic outcome when the heavy snow brought down part of the roof covering the enclosure of their golden eagle, Julia. Fortunately, the fully flighted bird, who is blind in one eye, elected to remain within her familiar home.
