This eagle seems to have grown a horizontal stabilizer as this crow flies above and behind. Crows will mob almost all raptors. In turn, crows are mobbed by some smaller species, such as red-winged blackbirds.

Corvid Chaos

First light is just breaking, but no early morning tasks await; it’s a good morning to sleep in. You roll over for a little more snooze time and… “caw, caw, caw” sounds from just outside the window. Half awake, you decide to close the window—except it is late February and the window is already closed. Say good morning to the crows.

Wanted: exceptional flower gardens

SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY—Flower gardens in Sullivan County will be the object of a benefit “Sullivan County Garden Tour” on July 10. Sponsored by SullivanArc and Sullivan Renaissance, the tour will feature interesting and special flower gardens throughout the county. Eagles get a big boost from 9-year-old
