Farm bureau to sponsor youth at conference

WAYNE COUNTY, PA — The Wayne Pike County Farm Bureau will fully sponsor two area high school students to participate in the “We Make Ag Look Good” annual youth conference at Bucknell University on June 21 to 25. The program provides high school juniors or seniors with an opportunity to develop leadership skills, establish speaking skills and hone communication skills with the intent of creating future community leaders. Students can use participation to enhance their college applications.

“By creating a forum for our local youth to grow in knowledge and personal skills, we also hope they may be able to assist in securing a viable future for agriculture,” said Marian Schweighofer, board member of the local farm bureau.
