RALPH V. FINK

Ralph V. Fink of San Diego, CA, formerly of Sparrowbush, NY, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at his home. He was 82.

He was born on July 10, 1927 in Port Jervis, NY, the son of the late John R. and Edith Hall Fink.

After high school graduation, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He entered the FBI in 1948 as a clerk in the New York Office. Upon graduating from St. John’s University, Ralph served as a special agent in the Chicago office and as a special agent and supervisor in the San Francisco office from 1957 until his retirement in 1980. After retirement, he operated Golden Gate Investigative Agency until December 1992.

He was a member of the San Francisco Peninsula Chapter, the Society of FBI Alumni and served all the positions including chairman of the San Diego chapter. Ralph was involved in his community and civic affairs and served as president of his neighborhood community center. Ralph was a Western vice president for two years for the Ex FBI.

He is survived by his wife, Florence Fink at home; son John Fink and wife Loree of Valentia, CA; daughters Teri Fink of Winston, OR and Gloria Clayton and husband Gary of Petaluma, CA; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, February 3, at 1:30 p.m. at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush, NY with Chaplain Joyce Davis officiating.

ELIZABETH 'BETTY' A. REGAN

Elizabeth “Betty” A. Regan of Sparrowbush, NY, died Monday, January 25, 2010 at her daughter’s home in Evans, GA. She was 78.

The daughter of the late John and Margaret (Barrett) Healey, she was born in Jersey City, NJ on March 27, 1931.

Mrs. Regan was a medical transcriptionist at the former Wallkill Valley General Hospital in Sussex, NJ (now Saint Clare’s Hospital) for 20 years until moving to Sparrowbush in 1989. She later worked at Frontier Insurance Co. in Rock Hill, NY and then for a private medical practice in Middletown, NY.

Mrs. Regan was a parishioner of St. Mary’s R.C. Church in Port Jervis, NY and formerly a parishioner of St. Monica’s R.C. Church in Sussex. She was a volunteer for the food bank at Grace Episcopal Church in Port Jervis.

She is survived by her children, Colleen Henderson and husband Carl of Sparrowbush, Margaret Deatrick and husband Douglas of Evans, GA, James Regan of Westchester, PA and Daniel Regan of Bluffton, SC; sister, Margaret Kelly of Neptune, NJ; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband James Regan in 1979; and a brother, John Healey.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, January 30 at St. Monica’s R.C. Church, Sussex. Interment followed at Clove Cemetery, Wantage, NJ.


ARTHUR R. RYBAK

Arthur R. Rybak of Damascus, PA, passed away January 26, 2010 in Tarpon Springs, Florida. He was 84.

Born August 4, 1925 in Binghamton, NY, he resided most of his life in Damascus and later in Tarpon Springs, FL.

He had a doctorate degree in psychology, was a special education teacher and retired in 1981 from the Liberty Central School District in New York. He was a World War II veteran, 10th Mt. Division, ski troops; he was wounded and awarded a Purple Heart. He was an avid golfer and tennis player.

He is survived by his wife Joan Abraham Rybak, children Cecil A. Rybak and wife Eleice of Tyler Hill, PA and Laurel A. Flowers of Ozona, FL; grandchildren Brandi Flowers, Charity Rybak, Miriam Rybak, Joseph Rybak and Stuart Rybak; and four great grandchildren.

A funeral service was held on Monday, February 1 at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, Narrowsburg, NY. Burial was in the Hillside Cemetery, Damascus, PA.

DORIS ZEININGER

Doris Zeininger, a homemaker and longtime resident of Livingston Manor, NY, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2010 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus in Middletown, NY.

The daughter of the late Henry and Margaret Edwards Zeininger, she was born July 25, 1946 in Liberty, NY.

“Mom” was loving and caring to all of her family, who will deeply miss her. She will be remembered for her collection of sentimental and cherished items from her grandchildren.

Survivors include one daughter, Denise Marie Van Duser of Jeffersonville, NY; and four grandchildren, Donald Anthony, Anthony Charles, Toni Marie and Nichole Louise Janik, at home. She also leaves behind her best friend, Ollen Eck; sisters, Esther Rivera and companion Hezekia Alsdorf and Betty Zeininger, all of Livingston Manor; and brother Ronald Zeininger of Monticello, NY.

She is predeceased by her parents; and brothers, Donald and William Zeininger.

Visitation was held at the Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home, Livingston Manor, on Friday, January 29. A service of remembrance followed.
