SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY — Tri-Valley’s undefeated girls team faced a challenge from Sullivan West, the defending Sullivan County champs, on February 1 and it seemed that with many jumping and throwing events missing from this meet, the Lady Bulldogs might have a chance to knock off their nemesis at least once this season. Last winter, the Lady Bulldogs ruled the roost, winning the division, county and a first-ever Section 9 title. But, the Lady Bears held on for a close win over the Lady Westies to retain their dominance this winter.

Girls team scores: Tri-Valley (TV), 90 points; Sullivan West (SW), 84; Eldred (Eld), 69; Liberty (Lib), 63; Ellenville (Ell) 25; Monticello (Mont) 8; and Livingston Manor (LM) 0. The following were individual champions:

In the boys meet, Monticello successfully defended its title by outpointing Ellenville. Eldred’s Hunter Proscia won two of the three distance races as he prevailed in the 1000 (2:48) and the 1600 (4:53.58). Monticello’s Dave Wilbur drafted in behind Eldred’s Alex Campanella and passed him for the win in the 3200.

Boys team scores: Monticello (Mont) 100 points; Ellenville (Ell) 87.5; Liberty (Lib) 66.5; Eldred (Eld) 66; Tri-Valley (TV) 33; Sullivan West (SW) 19; and Livingston Manor (LM) 0. The following were individual champions:
