Be Mine Too
NARROWSBURG, NYBe Mine Too, the Alliance Gallerys second annual exhibition of photographs, collage, poetry and poem objects celebrating the universal theme of love, opens on Saturday, January 30 with an opening reception from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The exhibit runs through Saturday, February 20.
In February, residents of the Catskills can use a little warmth, says Alliance Gallery director Rocky Pinciotti. The concept of an exhibition based on romance, love, desire and affection is not a unique idea, but it is an engaging one.

Toying with Chopin, Schumann and Cage
MILFORD, PAKindred Spirits Arts Programs will present Phyllis Chen, a virtuoso pianist who specializes in playing toy pianos, at Delaware Valley High School at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 6 at the Delaware Valley High School Auditorium, 252 Route 6.
Playing both Romantic classics by Chopin and Schumann and contemporary music by John Cage, Chen offers a rare opportunity to hear a real pianist tackle the sort of instrument Schroeder made famous in Peanuts cartoons.

Up in the Air to screen at CineArt
CALLICOON, NYCineArt will present Up in the Air at the Callicoon Theatre on Upper Main Street on Friday, February 5 through Wednesday, February 10 at 7:30 p.m., with matinees Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
Golden Globe-winner for Best Screenplay, Up in the Air stars George Clooney as a corporate downsizing expert whose solitary life on the road is in jeopardy when a young Cornell grad (Anna Kendrick) proposes a more efficient way to lay off workers: by computer. Vera Farmiga and Jason Bateman round out the cast.
