Raptors in the region
Eagles abound at this time of year, thanks to the efforts of many individuals and organizations that have worked ceaselessly throughout the past four decades to restore eagle populations which reached all-time lows in the 1970s.
Eagles and other raptors were celebrated last weekend at the annual EagleFest in Narrowsburg, NY and Eagle Watch Weekend in Lackawaxen, PA, where thousands of visitors attended a multitude of informational presentations.

USDA funding available for hoop houses
WASHINGTON, DCThe United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced a new pilot project under the Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food initiative for farmers to establish high tunnels—also known as hoop houses—to increase the availability of locally grown produce in a conservation-friendly way and add to producers bottom lines.

Winter snowshoe hike will follow the O&W Rail Trail
MOUNTAINDALE, NYThe Mountaindale Community Development Project will host a free snow hike along the O&W Rail Trail between Mountaindale and Woodridge on Sunday, January 24 at 1:00 p.m., starting at the new train station.
