A transformational tale

BEACH LAKE, PA — The movie “The Visitor” will be screened at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 24 at the Berlin Township Community Center.

The film tells the story of a professor who comes face-to-face with illegal immigrants living in his apartment. What happens to him makes for a compelling tale of transformation and a provocative study on the nature of the interconnected web of existence. The 2008 film, directed by Thomas McCarthy (“The Station Agent”), features Richard Jenkins in his Oscar-nominated role as the emotionally shut-down academic moved to action.

The showing is free, and there will be an open discussion after the movie. The workshop is the third in the Upper Delaware Unitarian Universalist Fellowship’s Intersession series, which runs through February 28, highlighting poetry, art, film and music as creative spiritual expression.
