Lots of winners at Manor Ice Carnival
LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY The Livingston Manor Ice Carnival, which took place last weekend, yielded a slew of winners this year, starting with the crowds who enjoyed a couple of days worth of competitions, demonstrations and entertainment.
Nick Meyer and Christine Babich were crowned 2010 Ice Carnival King & Queen at the Ice Carnival Dance on Saturday night. The Livingston Manor Central School class of 2011 won the snow contest with its sculpture depicting ice hockey. The class of 2010 came in second with its skiing and snowboarding sculpture, and the classes of 2012 and 2013 tied with portrayals of sledding and snowmobiling respectively.
Skaters of the day on Sunday were Chloe Lewis (junior girls), Hannan Snyder (senior girls), Roan Gillingham (junior boys) and Matthew Janik (senior boys).
In the ice skating races, the winner in the 19 and older category was Cody Wilkins; in the boys and girls 13 to 15 years old category the winner was Brad Hemmer; in the boys 10 to 12-year-old category the winner was Matthew Janik, in the girls 10 to 12 years old the winner was Iris Gillingham; in the boys and girls eight and nine years old the winner was Rebecca Lin, in the boys and girls six and seven years the winner was Leo Kehagia, and in the girls five and younger the winner was Chloe Lewis.
