Bethel Woods announces first concert date
Ringo Starr signs up for June 26
BETHEL, NY Bethel Woods Center for the Arts has announced its first concert date for the new year, featuring living legend Ringo Starr and His All Star Band, for Saturday, June 26.
Bethel Woods chief operating officer Darlene Fedun said, Our 2010 season is shaping up to be the best ever, and were thrilled to be able to offer our guests the opportunity to see Ringo Starr this summer. We invite both our loyal guests, and those who may not have visited with us before, to join us as we celebrate our fifth anniversary this season.
June 26th at 8:00 p.m. will be the first time a Beatle has played at the site of the 1969 Woodstock festival. While the Fab Four turned down the offer in the 60s, Ringo Starr was scheduled to appear in 2008, but due to an equipment breakdown on the tour, the date was cancelled. This summer, Bethel Woods audiences will finally have the opportunity to experience the legendary drummer and His All Starr Band, featuring Rick Derringer, Richard Page (Mister Mister), Wally Palmer (The Romantics), Edgar Winter and Gary Wright. For more than a decade, Ringo Starr and His All-Star Band have been pleasing crowds with memorable rock-and-roll hits played by some of rocks most talented musicians.
