LOCH SHELDRAKE, NY—New Year’s fervor will reverberate in area gyms as the basketball season heats up with key league games on the docket. Wrestling, too, will take center stage as the gigantic Eastern States tournament gets underway on January 8 and 9 at Sullivan County Community College.

But while those sports garner the winter limelight and draw legions of vocal and enthusiastic fans, indoor track athletes train relentlessly with far less fanfare.
