Winter theatre class

NARROWSBURG, NY — Backstage is a free theatre program for kids ages seven to 18. Classes will begin at the Tusten-Cochecton branch of the Western Sullivan Public Library on Saturday, January 16 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The classes will continue on Saturday mornings for eight weeks and culminate with an original performance based on “Alice in Wonderland.” The production will be created by the participants under the direction of Tannis Kowalchuk.

The eight-week course will incorporate introduction to stage etiquette, creation of text, development of vocal skills, physical technique, lighting and set design, plus other facets integral to mounting a new production. Classes are free and open to the public. All levels of experience are accommodated.

Children interested in Backstage classes are required to pre-register at the Tusten-Cochecton Branch at 198 Bridge Street before January 14 and are expected to attend all classes in prepartion for the final performance. Limited to 20 particpants.
