New farmer training workshop to be offered in February
LIBERTY, NY The farmer training workshop, dealing with the management aspects of running a farm or agricultural enterprise, will be offered by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Sullivan County starting February 18.
The nine-week program, titled New Farmer and Grower Training, is designed to give participants practical information to help them make sound business and production related decisions. Topics to be covered include business planning, marketing, records management, agricultural tax implications and production systems.
All classes will be held on Thursday evenings at the Cornell Cooperative Extension office in Liberty, starting at 6:30 p.m. The course will run through April 15.
A minimum of 10 registrants are needed to conduct this program. The workshop fee is $75 per person, and includes a notebook and all materials.
Registration is due by Wednesday, February 10.
