Judge Anthony Kane retires

MONTICELLO, NY — After 25 years as a judge in Sullivan County, NYS Appellate Court Justice Anthony Kane said farewell to the legislature at the government center on December 29. Kane, left, who is retiring, was presented with a plaque by county chairman Jonathan Rouis. Rouis thanked him and said the county was blessed to have had his services.

Kane said he always considered it an honor and a privilege to serve, and that he sought to deliver justice with “efficiency, dignity and respect.”

If he follows the lead of other retired judges, Kane, who has been an attorney since 1970, may still be involved in trial work and serve as an arbitrator.
