Ski Big Bear opens this weekend

LACKAWAXEN, PA — Ski Big Bear will open on Saturday, December 19 for the 2009/2010 ski season. Ski Big Bear has been making snow for the last two weeks and will open with a good amount of terrain for all levels on the first day. This is possible due to its increased snowmaking capacity and a veteran crew of snowmakers working in ideal snowmaking weather leading up to opening day. The new double/double chairlift, along with the second Magic Carpet added last season, doubles the resort’s uphill capacity.

Ski Big Bear will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. every day of Christmas week except Tuesday, December 22 and Christmas Day. It will be open every day from December 26 through January 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Skiing will be available until midnight on New Year’s Eve.

Snow tubing is available from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. from December 26 through January 2 and from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on January 3.
