Liberty Free presents two one-act plays

LIBERTY, NY — The Liberty Free Theatre at 109 South Main Street will present “Not Much to Say,” by Paul Austin, and “Final Placement,” by Ara Watson, on Thursday through Sunday, December 3 through 6 and 10 through 13. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and at 3:00 p.m. on Sundays.

“Not Much to Say” is a comedy crime caper about two lovers caught stealing an important person’s money. The play was written as an homage to Nobel Laureates Samuel Beckett and Harold Pinter. The language is one of the more unusual features of the play in that no line of dialogue is longer than one word. “Final Placement” made its debut at the Humana Festival in 1981, and since then has been played all over the world. It is brutally candid and profoundly compassionate as it investigates the confrontation between a social worker and a young woman whose child has been taken away from her.

Tom DelFavero, Michael Frizalone, Valerie Mansi, Dana Priebe and James Sullivan are the cast of “Not Much to Say.” Dana Priebe and Rebecca Robbins are featured in “Final Placement.” The sets are designed by Alexis Siroc and Thomas Bosket, lighting is designed by Jon-Jon Thomas and Paul Austin directs.

Admission is free. Seating is limited and reservations are recommended. The audience is invited to gather after the performance for food, drink and music. The plays are not suitable for children.
