With Halloweens recent passing, pumpkins carved by humans to create glowing Jack-o-lanterns dotted the region. Leading up to the festive holiday in the Town of Highland, NY, several brilliant orange clumps of Omphalotus olearius—Jack-o-lantern mushrooms—lit the landscape on Clark Road, where they fruited at the base of a large rotting tree stump.
GRAHAMSVILLE, NYThe Sullivan County Division of Planning, in conjunction with Sullivan Renaissance, will sponsor an event where you can learn how to provide the basic requirements of food, water and shelter that will attract wildlife to your backyard. It will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18 at the Tri Valley School, 34 Moore Hill Road in Grahamsville.
