The ghost of ‘Miss Fan’ to preside over historical dinner

MILFORD, PA — The Dimmick Inn will host a history-themed dinner with the help of the Pike County Historical Society (PCHS) on Sunday, November 15. The meal will be based on menus held in the archives of the historical society, and a share of the proceeds will go the society to help with archival preservation.

The evening will feature a visit from Fannie Dimmick (“Miss Fan”) herself, the one-time proprietor of the Dimmick Inn, who took it over from her father in 1828 and presided over its rebuilding after a fire in 1856. The event will be accompanied by live fiddle music, as Miss Fan was reputedly an awesome fiddle player.

Tickets cost $45 and include appetizer, main course, dessert and coffee. There will be a cash bar from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the new “Upper Deck Lounge,” with the dinner at 6:00 p.m.

Seating is limited and reservations are suggested. For more information call 570/296-4021 or 296-8126.
