Art in Sixes returns for the sixth holiday season

NARROWSBURG, NY — Giving art lovers a head start on their holiday gift giving, “Art in Sixes,” an exhibition of small works by local artists, opens at the Delaware Arts Center’s Alliance Gallery on Saturday, November 14, with a reception from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The exhibit will be on view through December 23.

An annual year-end tradition that has evolved over the past five years, “Art in Sixes” is comprised of works no larger than six inches in any direction. This group exhibition includes a large number of artists in all media including paintings, drawings, sculpture, fiber and more. All works of art are for sale.

“The underlying beauty of the collection is the wide variety of mediums that are represented. Painting, sculpture, collage, photography, ceramics and prints all co-exist harmoniously in the Alliance Gallery space. These small works are affordable, collectible gems that sparkle this time of year,” said gallery director Rocky Pinciotti.

Running simultaneously next door at Signature Gifts at the Delaware Arts Center is Valley Artists Holiday Show and Sale, where over 60 artists, specializing in wood, photography, painting, jewelry, ceramics, textiles, and sculpture are highlighted. Also featured are books by local authors.

“The Delaware Valley Arts Alliance prides itself on promoting and selling work by area artists on a year-round basis,” said executive director Elaine Giguere, “but at holiday time we move into the Loft Gallery to double our sales space and accommodate more merchandise created by artists.”

Alliance Gallery and Signature Gifts are located at the Delaware Arts Center at 37 Main Street. The exhibit and the sale are both are open through Wednesday, December 23, Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
