Towpath trail closed
The National Park Service Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational Area (NPS) wrapped up several projects at the Roebling Bridge at Minisink Ford this year, including restoration of the Towpath Trail.
The trail was seriously damaged during the floods of 2004-05-06. It has been restored by the Cutting Edge Group of Lake George, NY, which repaired the half-mile-long trail with an eye toward sustainability in flood conditions. Hardy turf grass has been planted to help prevent future erosion caused by flooding. The trail is closed until spring 2010 to allow the grass to become well established. For more information contact Carla Hauser Hahn of the NPS at 570/729-8251.
