Fiddling up a storm in Beach Lake

BEACH LAKE, PA — The Old Time Fiddlers of Northeast PA will host their annual fiddle festival on Sunday, November 1. The event will be held at the Beach Lake Fire Hall, Route 652. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m., with music starting at 2:00 p.m. Fiddlers will have a 15-minute showcase to perform their favorite tunes and songs.

Fiddlers and other musicians from all over the tri-state area will be attending. Some of the styles represented are bluegrass, old-time, Celtic, western swing and Canadian. Requests are encouraged from the audience. Refreshments will be available throughout the day. The fire hall is handicapped accessible.

The Old Time Fiddlers (a non-profit organization) is celebrating 30 years of performing and promoting traditional music in the area. All proceeds from this year’s festival go to Ernie Kosydar and family. Ernie, a member of The Old Time Fiddlers, is battling cancer.

Admission costs $10 for adults, $7 for seniors 65 and over, $5 for students over 12 and is free for children 12 and under. For more information call 570/224-6330.
