Preservation forum offers art show, walking tour

LIBERTY, NY — The 8th annual New York Preservation Forum, dubbed “Preservation Sunday,” will be held on Sunday, November 1 and will focus on educating the public about Catskills’ history, as well as historic preservation issues and techniques. In conjunction with the forum, two other events will be offered: the eighth annual Preservation Art Show, “Before the Camera,” and a walking tour of historic Ferndale.

In “Before the Camera,” well-known photographer LaVerne Black shares a collection of paintings and drawings that capture her unique perspective of “an era gone by in Sullivan County.” There will be an opening reception on Sunday, November 1 at 7:00 p.m., and the show will run through December 31.

The Historic Ferndale Walking Tour, with town councilman Maurice Gerry, will be held on November 1, at 9:00 a.m. Meet at the Ferndale Marketplace. The event is free and open to the public.
