The Green Heron strikes again

NARROWSBURG, NY — Another installment of the Green Heron Poetry Project will take place on October 25 at 2:00 p.m. at Beaverbrook Cottage, 1256 Crystal Lake Road.

In addition to a reading of the 12 Green Heron Poetry contest winners, two installments of a radio play by Jim Stratton, a former New York City reporter and current columnist, will be presented.

These light-hearted river-town romances, read by local actors, involve intrigue, espionage, an endangered species and mysterious disappearances. In the first play a town loses its fish and eagles. The second play opens with a flood. The Green Heron, a small-town sleuth in the tradition of The Green Hornet, saves the day.

The Green Heron Poetry Project is made possible in part with funds from the Decentralization Program for Sullivan County, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts, and administered by the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance.

Light refreshments and wine will be provided. The event is free but donations are welcomed. For information and directions visit beaverbrookcottage.com or call 845/252-7506.
