SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY — What a week. In addition to those captioned, others made news as well. At the cross-country Division V championships, the Eldred girls won the team title. In the boys race, Hunter Proscia was crowned individual champion.

Liberty beat Millbrook in football 21-0 and a win this week over Spackenkill will send them to the playoffs for the first time in the new era. Sullivan West mauled Spackenkill 45-0 to lock up their playoff berth. Tri-Valley got a win on homecoming by downing Onteora 42-7. Sullivan West’s girls soccer team worked out an impressive 1-1 tie against Tri-Valley up in Oneonta.

Sullivan West’s Dani Myers won the Division IV cross-country race in 19:26. Tri-Valley’s girls won the team title, their 10th straight by nixing reigning champs Sullivan West, which had owned the title for seven years. This year, T-V moved up from Division V. (Click for larger version)

Liberty girls celebrate their 2-0 win over Sullivan West that propelled them back to the sectionals after being eliminated from contention last year by the Lady Bulldogs. Sullivan West is also bound for Class B sectionals and could see Liberty again in the post season. Other county teams making it to the dance include Fallsburg boys, Liberty boys, Livingston Manor girls and Tri-Valley girls so far. There may be more. (Click for larger version)
