Award-winning sommelier leads wine tasting

NARROWSBURG, NY — Catskill Citizens for Safe Energy and Callicoon Fine Arts will present a wine tasting fundraiser led by award-winning sommelier Karen King, on Saturday, October 17 at 3:30 p.m., at 256 Bridge Street. There will be four pairs of classic grape varietals, and small plates of food, prepared to enhance the tasting experience, will accompany each of the wines.

King was sommelier at the world renowned Union Square Café. She is a winner of the James Beard Award, and has taught at New York University, the Sommelier Society of America and the French Culinary Institute. She has participated in several New York Times tasting panels. The fundraiser will support an up-to-the-minute webpage hosted by www.catskillcitizens.org that provides a networking center for citizens concerned about gas drilling and hyrdofracking in the Upper Delaware region.

Wines and food are provided by Michael Eurey, owner of Narrowsburg Fine Wines and Spirits. The cost is $40 per person.
