Train returns to White Mills

WHITE MILLS, PA — For the first time in nearly a century, a passenger train will stop in the Village of White Mills. The Wayne County Chamber of Commerce (WCCC), operator of the Stourbridge Line Rail Excursions and the Dorflinger-Suydam Wildlife Sanctuary are partnering to offer a new excursion that will provide an opportunity to visit the attractions in the Village of White Mills, known as home to the famous Dorflinger Cut Glass Company.

On Saturday, October 10, the 9:30 a.m. excursion will depart from Honesdale. Passengers interested in detraining in White Mills will board a van that will take them to the various Dorflinger-related attractions while the train continues on its scheduled trip to Lackawaxen.

The White Mills tour will include the Dorflinger Glass Museum, the grounds of the Dorflinger-Suydam Wildlife Sanctuary, a fully restored glassworker’s house, the lock tender’s house on the former Delaware and Hudson Canal and the 1911 White Mills Fire House, home to the White Mills Museum.
