Hawley’s havin’ a hoedown

HAWLEY, PA — Hawley’s Harvest Hoedown will be held on Saturday, October 3. Pumpkins, hay bales and corn stalks will abound and Hawley’s eateries, galleries, shops and boutiques will be rolling out the fall carpet. Nearly 50 vendors will be offering homemade baked goods, maple syrup, artisan cheese and heirloom veggies, arts, crafts, antiques, collectibles, gift items and more.

In addition to long-established Hoedown traditions such as children’s games, pumpkin decorating, face painting, hayrides, live entertainment and food, a number of new events will debut this year. They include a benefit 5K run from Bingham Park at 9:00 a.m., a flea market at the Hawley firehouse from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., BatFest at the Hawley Library from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., and more. There’s also a scarecrow contest, and you can stop by and visit the Village Square Adviser to vote for your favorite scarecrow.
