Pianist Lee featured at free Shandelee concert
MONTICELLO, NY The Shandelee Music Festival will present its Second Fall Family Concert in the Arnold Hughs Auditorium of Monticello High School on Friday, October 2 at 10:30 a.m. This special concert will feature pianist Doris Lee, who will perform works by Bach, Beethoven and Chopin, and will have an open discussion with the audience regarding the pieces performed.
Lee is a 17-year-old student at the Watchung Regional High School in New Jersey. She was a top prize winner at numerous competitions, including the prestigious Musica in Laguna International Solo competition in Chioggia, Italy among others.
During the summer of 2009, Lee attended the International Keyboard Institute Festival at Mannes School of Music, where she was accepted and awarded with a professional scholarship. She also attended and performed at the Shandelee Music Festival in the summers of 2007 and 2009.
This Outreach Concert is made possible in part with funds from the 2009 Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts, administered in Sullivan County by Delaware Valley Arts Alliance.
The concert is open to all students free, college students free with school ID. It costs $10 for adults and $8 for seniors.
