GRAHAMSVILLE, NY — The 24th annual Giant Pumpkin Party and Children’s Parade will be held on Saturday, October 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Fairgrounds in Grahamsville.

A benefit for the Daniel Pierce Library, this old-time country fair and autumn festival has a costume parade, pony rides, giant pumpkin growing contest, haunted house, petting zoo, live music, hay rides, hay maze, scavenger hunt, a “Better” Book Sale, handmade crafts, harvest baking contest, delicious food and more.

The children’s costume parade (open to children of all ages) will begin the day’s activities. Entertainment on the library front lawn will be provided by Jack Luster and Dr. Professor Balloonakiss, a performance that takes the ordinary and transforms it into color, magic and fun.

At 9:00 a.m., parade participants will march to the Fairgrounds where costume prizewinners will be announced. 105 prizes will be awarded in seven categories.

At the fairgrounds, bands providing musical entertainment will include Breakneck Annie with Gene Mueller, Graham Vest, Terry Seeley, Annie Loeb and Bill Buskey; and Fiddlin’ Around, with Steve Jacobi, Craig Gehrig, Dale Teeple and Jay Brooks.

Contests are one of the most popular features of the annual event, and will include the Giant Pumpkin Growing Contest (adult and children’s categories), Pumpkin Decorating Contest, Country Bake Contest, Obstacle Course, Hay Bale Throw Contest and Theme Float Contest.
