Historical harvest

HONESDALE, PA — The Wayne County Historical Society’s Harvest Festival 2009 will be held at the Bryn Mawr Mountain Retreat near Honesdale. The picture chosen for this year’s commemorative program is an old post card of a steamer on Lake Ladore, and in addition to purchasing tickets, many businesses and individuals are taking ads in the program, which, as usual, will feature historic vignettes and pictures.

Music will be provided by Old Friends, a versatile group featuring folk, country, Irish and classic rock. Dancing is, of course, encouraged and dress is casual. Jeans are not only welcome but suggested.

Admission costs $50 for adults, $20 for 6-13 years and children under 6 will be admitted free. Admission includes a buffet dinner, silent auction and Old Friends in concert. For more information about tickets or space in the commemorative booklet, contact the Wayne County Historical Society, 570/253-3240, wchshop@ptd.net or waynehistorypa.org.
