FREDERICK D. BURY JR
Frederick D. Bury Jr. of Jeffersonville, NY passed away Friday, September 18, 2009, at his home after a long illness. He was 59.
Fred was born April 7, 1950 in Liberty, NY, the son of the late Frederick D. Bury and Frieda Hupke Bury.
Freds motto for life was one day at a time. He established Bury Builders, Inc. and also owned and operated a woodworking shop. Fred was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Jeffersonville, where he was baptized, confirmed and until his death was a deacon, where he helped set up the monthly food pantry. He also established the churchs first website.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Georgianne Bury; daughter Jessica Bury of Connecticut; son Daniel Bury of San Diego, CA; sister Barbara Bury Tampasis, her husband Constantine and their two sons and sister Judy VanKeuren and husband Elbert and their three daughters.
A funeral service celebrating Freds life will be held on Friday, September 25, at 4:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Jeffersonville, with the Rev. Lee Andrews officiating.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 11, at 12 noon at the Presbyterian Cemetery, Likel Road. At that time Freds ashes will be interred.

NORMA MILLIGAN EDELMANN
Norma Milligan Edelmann, a longtime resident of Pittstown and co-founder of Edelmann Sales Inc., died Saturday, September 19, 2009 at St. Marys Hospital in Troy, NY. She was 83.
Norma was born January 28, 1926 in Lake Huntington, NY to Alice Kiesler Milligan and Edwin Milligan. She attended Narrowsburg High School in Narrowsburg, NY. Normas husband, Frederick W. Edelmann, predeceased her in 1981.
The family lived in Pittstown and in 1966 Norma and Fred started their snowmobile sales and service business at the family home. Norma remained active in the business until her death.
Norma was the first president of the William T. Rohrmann VFW Post Ladies Auxiliary in Lake Huntington.
Norma is survived by her son, Clark Edelmann and wife Mary of Pittstown; daughters Susy Gavagan and husband James of West Hoosick and Mary Lou MacNaughton and husband Paul of Pittstown; sister Jeanette Cochrane of Lake Huntington; 10 grandchildren, Tim Edelmann, Patricia OConnor, Heidi Edelmann, Robin Edelmann, Kara Gavagan, Finn Gavagan, Michael MacNaughton, Jason MacNaughton, Katie MacNaughton, and Jill MacNaughton; a great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, sister Helen Lowe and three brothers, Louis Milligan, Everett Milligan and Clark Milligan, predeceased her.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 24 at the Howard B. Tate & Son Funeral Home Inc., 2237 NY Route 7, Raymertown.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gaylord Campbell presiding. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

PATRICIA ELIZABETH KEMETHER
Patricia Elizabeth Kemether of Twin Lakes, Shohola Township, PA, died on Sunday, September 13, 2009.
She was born in Staten Island, NY to Patrick and Alice Hough. She was graduated from Saint Louis Academy High School and was on full academic scholarship at The College of Notre Dame in Staten Island.
She married Fred Martin Kemether in 1942. In 1971, she moved to Twin Lakes with her family and resumed her career, working as an analyst for the Pike County Area on Aging until her retirement in 1999. A passionate, bright, witty and caring person, her interests included national and local politics, traveling and history. She and her husband were great dancers, excelling at the Lindy. She loved spending time with her family. She traveled many places including her familys native Ireland, Scotland, London, Paris, the Amalfi Coast of Italy, Montreal and Quebec City, Canada, Hawaii, and within the United States.
She was, in the words of W.H. Auden, the North, the South, the East, and the West for her family. An indomitable force, her strength and generosity were offered freely to all of her family, friends, and neighbors in need. She is irreplaceable to and will be sorely missed by those who loved her.
Surviving are four children, Eileen Kemether of New York, Redmond Kemether and wife Lucy of Oklahoma City, OK, Noreen Kemether and partner Megan Adams of Pennington, NJ and Sean Kemether and wife Michelle of Media, PA; and grandchildren Caitlan, Ryan, Cecilia, Katee, Dylan, Sara and Quinn Kemether.
She was predeceased in 2001 by her husband. She was also predeceased by two children, Barbara and Patricia; grandson Charles; sister Alice Todd; and brothers Michael, Richard and Gerald Hough.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, September 19, at St. Patricks Church, Milford, PA. Burial followed in Milford Cemetery, Dingman Township, PA.
Donations may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
JOAN KOPP
Joan Kopp of Port Jervis, NY and a longtime resident of the area, died Saturday, September 19, 2009 at home with her family by her side. She was 75.
She was born October 23, 1933 in Cochecton, NY, the daughter of the late Earl and Nellie Avis Conklin Hughson.
She was married to the late John S. Kopp Jr. who died October 16, 1980.
A family statement reads: Mom was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be greatly missed.
Surviving are sons Randy and Bruce Kopp, both of Middletown, NY; daughters Joann Hasbrouck and husband John, Port Jervis, Brenda Kopp, Middletown, Rosemary Smith and husband Leonard, Sparrowbush; brother Robert Wagner of Virginia; sister Evelyn Tyler, Goshen, NY; 14 grandchidren; and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her brother, Earl Hughson; and her sister, Betty Hughson.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 23 in Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Port Jervis, with Keith Orlofski of the New Apostolic Church, Montague, NJ officiating.
A prayer service will be held at 12:00 noon in the funeral home on Thursday, September 24 followed by a burial at Rural Valley Cemetery, Cuddebackville, NY.

ROBERT F. MIGLIORATO JR
Robert F. Migliorato, Jr. of Chester, NY passed away Saturday, September 5, 2009 at home. He was 60.
Born in Yonkers, NY on November 9, 1948, Robert was the son of Robert F. Migliorato, Sr. and Julia A. Basile Migliorato of Chestnut Ridge.
Robert was a retired detective and the director of the Juvenile Aide Department for the Spring Valley Police Department, Spring Valley, NY. He was a 1970 graduate of SUNY Albany and a retired staff sergeant with the U.S. Army National Guard.
In addition to his parents, Robert is survived by his wife, Lesley A. Roselli Migliorato, at home; daughters Brooke Brooks and husband Gabe of Port St. Lucie, FL and Meredith Migliorato of Greensboro, NC; aunt Florence Thomas of Chestnut Ridge; sisters Linda Fedorick and husband, Joseph of Sparrowbush and Janice Migliorato of Spring Valley; grandchildren Cooper and Gracie Brooks; and nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated by Roberts brother-in-law, Rev. Mark J. Roselli, S.J., on Saturday, September 12 at St. Anastasia Parish Church, Harriman. Cremation followed at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope.

RUTH M. SCHOCK
Ruth M. Schock of Monticello, NY, a lifelong area resident, died on Sunday, September 13, 2009, at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. She was 80.
She was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Lela Knickerbocker Sheeley, born on January 6, 1929 in Lew Beach, NY.
Ruth was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Gustav Bud Schock.
Ruth is survived by her son, Thomas R. Schock and wife Diana of Monticello; sisters Anna Partridge, Eleanor ORourke and husband James of Bethel, NY and Martha Johnson of Monticello; grandson Ryan; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers Raymond, Arnold, Clarence, Leslie and Kenneth Sheeley.
Funeral services were on Friday, September 18 at Ramsays Funeral Home, Monticello. Burial of the ashes followed at Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, Liberty, NY.
NORA M. SWOPE
Nora M. Swope of Jeffersonville, NY, formerly of Callicoon, NY, a homemaker and former owner of E&N Tavern, Callicoon and a lifetime resident of the area, died Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. She was 87.
The daughter of the late Orin and Esther Gillow Maudsley, she was born August 10, 1922 in Manchester Township, Wayne County, PA. She was the widow of Edward Swope.
She was a member of the Callicoon United Methodist Church.
Survivors include daughters Linda Immoor and husband Douglas of Youngsville, NY and Sharon Tate of Pahrump, NV; grandchildren Steven Immoor and wife Denise Schalck Immoor and Tracy Krug and husband Lawrence Krug Jr.; and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son-in-law, John Tate.
There will be no visitation. Services will be held at a later date.
Burial will be in the French Woods Cemetery, Town of Hancock, NY.
