Bat Fest to return to Hawley Hoedown

HAWLEY, PA — Hercules Invictus will present Bat Fest 2009 during the Hawley Hoedown from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on October 3 at the Hawley Public Library, 103 Main Avenue in Hawley. Join Muninn, the “Pocono Bat Lady” and discover the amazing world of bats, their conservation, WNS updates, myths and more. Special guest speaker, bat rehabilitator Steph Stronsick, will also be on hand with important bat rescue news concerning Pennsylvania bats. Participants can get plans and pointers for building their own bat houses. Admission is free, but donations are always welcome.

The Bat Fest program is returning for a second year after a successful debut in 2008, and organizers plan to make it an annual event.
