Bethel Woods invites the county for a picnic
BETHEL, NY Bethel Woods Center for the Arts will host County-Wide Picnic Day: A Sullivan County Bicentennial Event on Saturday, September 26 from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m.
The family-oriented picnic-style event will celebrate the Sullivan County Bicentennial. Guests are invited to bring a picnic basket and a blanket and enjoy the park-like grounds at Bethel Woods. Admission is free, but a $2 donation is suggested to benefit the not-for-profit Bethel Woods Center for the Arts community and cultural programs.
The County-Wide Picnic Day, which will officially close the 2009 Bicentennial Celebration, will feature historical re-enactors, historical and cultural displays from across Sullivan County, childrens activities and multiple stages with live local music. Music at the front gates will include the Callicoon Center Band and The Mountain Tones community marching band. At the market sheds there will be performances by Jared and Aaron, acoustic-rock/blues; Janet Burgan, folk/alternative country; and Larry Kitzmiller, acoustic. Music at the Pavilion Stage will include Pondering Phoxes, classic rock; Slam Allen Band, R&B/soul and blues; and Darren and Albi, rock. On the Terrace Stage the West Point Bands Jazz Knights will perform.
