Struggling through mid-life with humour
MILFORD, PA Amy Ferris will be at the BlueStone Gallery on Wednesday, September 23 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. to share parts of her newly released book, Marrying George Clooney: Confessions From A Midlife Crisis, as a fundraiser for Safe Haven. All entry donations and book sales during this event will go directly to help promote peace in Pike County as part of Safe Havens Paint Pike Purple campaign.
Ferris offers up her heart and soul, sharing all her down and dirty, raw-to-the-bone, no holds-barred 3:00 a.m. musings. Along with fantasizing about marrying George Clooney, she spends time negotiating her Ambien intake, deals with her ever-expanding body, worries endlessly about her husband, contemplates her Jewish mothers rapidly progressing dementia (along with her newfound love of Jesus Christ), and googles old boyfriends… all in the middle of the night while her patient husband Ken sleeps soundly.
Safe Haven, Inc., a not-for-profit organization is dedicated to restoring dignity to victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse. It provides a 24-hour crisis hotline, 570/296-4357 (HELP). Any one interested in volunteering should call 570/296-2827.
