CineArt screens ‘Inglourious Basterds’

CALLICOON, NY — The Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA) and the Callicoon Theater will present Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds,” starring Brad Pitt, starting on Friday, September 18 and running through Tuesday, September 22. Screenings will be at 7:30 p.m. every day, plus a matinee on Saturday, September 19 at 2:00 p.m.

Set in Nazi-occupied France during World War II, the story centers around Pitt’s character, a U.S. Army second lieutenant and commanding officer of a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as “The Basterds” who are chosen specifically to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis.

USA Today calls “Inglourious Basterds” “a hit of pure oxygen. [Tarantino’s] tall tale, with its tense and jangly pacing, is immediately riveting.”

The movie, which is R-rated, is shown as part of the CineArt series presented by a collaboration of the DVAA and Callicoon Theatre. Tickets cost $9, $6 for all seats on Monday.
