Beer and auction to support Catskill Arts Society

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — The third Annual Rain or Shine Gasko & Meyer Beer Fest will take place on Saturday, September 19 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Lanza’s Country Inn, 839 Shandelee Road. Local artists have donated work to a silent auction in support of the Catskill Arts Society Arts Center. This Oktoberfest charity event also features representatives from almost 25 different craft breweries from around the world with special attention to regional East Coast breweries. There will be live music in the barn, with Painted Betty performing from 5:00 to 7:00 and The Don’t Do Darlings from 7:00 to 9:00. Authentic German food will be available. Admission is $20 for an unlimited tasting cup.

Painted Betty, from Cold Spring, plays an eclectic mix of covers and originals, including blues, jazz, country and folk, peppered with occasional songs in French and Spanish. Members of the group are Tim Hall on guitar, David Rothenberg on clarinet and sax, Andrew Hall on bass, and singers Deb Madsen and Sonia Ryzy-Ryski.

The Don’t Do Darlings, from Livingston Manor, play some rough-and-tumble country rock originals and covers.
