Sullivan West players thunder onto the field prior to their 32-8 commanding win over visiting Liberty on September 11. The Bulldogs bounced back from an early miscue that led to an eight-point Liberty lead to put up 32 unanswered points of their own in response. (Click for larger version)

Sullivan West’s Ryan Alsdorf (8) had seemingly big shoes to fill, taking over the reins from MVP Brad Reimer, who is now playing baseball at LIU. Still, in two games, Alsdorf, pictured here after a gain near the goal line and just prior to his second TD, has helped his team’s powerful offense pile up 81 points. Against Liberty, Alsdorf ran for a pair of touchdowns and threw for another to help his team to a 32-8 win over the Indians. (Click for larger version)

Division titles in both indoor and outdoor track have become regular accomplishments for Sullivan West’s girl runners. Hoping to add a cross-country banner, the Lady Bulldogs captured a win over league contender Liberty as well as over non-league Monticello on September 9. Led by Rianne Erlwein, back from her spring heel issues, the Lady Bulldogs populated most of the top 10 spots in the race. Eldred’s Heather Ouellette is always in the thick of things when it comes to this year’s girls soccer quest. She scored a pair of goals in the opening-day win over Monticello and figures to be key if Eldred can put together enough wins for a sectional run. (Click for larger version)
