McMahon leads sustainable growth seminar
LIBERTY, NY The Delaware Highlands Conservancy and Sullivan Renaissance, with sponsorship by the New York City Department of Environmental Protection, will present the seminar Sustainable Growth and Land Conservation led by Ed McMahon of the Urban Land Institute, on Saturday September 26 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the CVI Building.
McMahon is an author, attorney, and expert in green and sustainable development practices, community planning, growth management, land conservation, urban design and historic preservation. He holds the Charles Fraser Chair on Sustainable Development of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) in Washington, DC. Prior to joining ULI, McMahon spent 14 years as vice president and director of land use planning for the Conservation Fund in Arlington, VA and was also the co-founder and former president of Scenic America, a non-profit organization devoted to protecting Americas scenic landscapes.
Advance registration is required. The cost is $10 and includes McMahons book Better Models for Development in Pennsylvania. Refreshments will be served.
